Our church was established in the early 1960s when North Ryde was a new residential suburb that grew out of the market gardens which had been in the region. Since then, many children, young people and families have attended our weekly activities and annual camps.
We are a multicultural group that encourages everyone:
- To have a strong understanding of God’s Word, the Bible, and how it applies to our everyday lives.
- To be involved in ministry in a way that properly utilises their God-given talents and gifts. In this sense, we are all ministers.
- To love and care for each other. In this sense, we are all pastors.
We are an evangelical church which is affiliated with Christian Community Churches of Australia (a network of churches working together for the benefit of the Australian community).
Our aspiration
We aspire to be a Holy Spirit led church of devoted followers of the Lord Jesus Christ who are committed to worshipping and service the Lord in the local community, and to love and care for each other and impact people who follow Christ.
What we believe
We believe the Bible is the true Word of God and is His perfect guide book for living.
We believe in one God who exists in three persons – the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. He is the only true God, who is holy, loving and just.
We believe that sin separated us from God and that only through Jesus Christ can we be reconciled to God.
We believe that Jesus Christ is both God and man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He led a sinless life here on earth, and took the punishment for all our sins when He died on a cross at Calvary and was buried and rose back to life again three days later. Today He is seated at the right hand of God the Father as our High Priest and Mediator. He is a living Saviour.
We believe that salvation is the gift of God to mankind. This gift is given by grace through faith in Jesus Christ and not because of our works. It is ours to accept or reject.
We believe that heaven and hell are real places. Death is a beginning, not the end.
We believe that water baptism is a symbol of the cleansing power of God and a testimony of our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
We believe that the Lord’s Supper (or Communion) is a time to remember Christ’s life, death and resurrection. We provide an opportunity to do this each Sunday.
We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells every believer. He guides us in all areas of our lives, makes it possible for us to lead Christ-like lives, and gives each one gifts for building up the church.
We believe that we are called to share our Christian faith with everyone. We believe that our Lord Jesus Christ is coming back again as He promised, to take those who believe in Him to be with Him for all eternity
